Police: Albertville High School teacher caught distributing steroids

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. - An Albertville High School teacher was arrested at his home on Thursday.  David Darden is charged with possession of a controlled substance and six counts of distribution.

The Marshall County Drug Task Force arrested Darden after serving a search warrant.  They said he was distributing testosterone and anabolic steroids.

They have been investigating him for months, they said, and even have reports he was involved in this type of activity for 20 years or more.  Agents made controlled buys over the last two months, including one at his home.

Darden teaches science at Albertville High School.  At this time, agents can't say if he was distributing to students, but they are investigating that matter.

The school system can't comment on the status of Darden's employment, but said he is not at school today.
