Officers respond to gunfire at Alabama A&M University Sunday night

NORMAL, Ala. — Law enforcement responded to gunfire outside a residence hall at Alabama A&M University Sunday night.

Officers received a report of gunfire outside of Thomas Hall, a residence facility used to house males.

No students were injured according to police.

Witnesses in the hall were able to immediately assist officers in identifying the suspect.  Police have made contact with him, they say he is a student from Mobile.

The University continues to take steps to reinforce campus safety, as well as to eliminate misconduct on campus.
