We are taking action to make sure you are aware of road closures and projects that could affect your morning commute for Thursday, October 20, 2016.

Interstate 65:

The Alabama Department of Transportation has closed the outside southbound lane of Interstate 65 just south of Thompson Road in Hartselle for bridge repair.

The lane should reopen around 3 p.m. on Friday.

Truckers carrying wide loads will be detoured to Alabama Highway 67 northbound in Priceville to U.S. Highway 31 southbound in Decatur.  Truckers will hook back up with Interstate 65 in Lacon.

Interstate 565:

Crews will be out on Interstate 565 finishing up work on the cable barriers in Madison and Limestone Counties.

Some of the barriers were damaged last month.

Expect the inside lane to be closed where work is being done.

Workers in Decatur will be milling and paving portions of the following streets:

  • Railroad Street NW
  • Vine Street NE
  • Well Street NE
  • Walnut Street NE

This is part of an ongoing sewer main project.

The work should be completed in about a week.
