HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – There’s a large pile of rubbish on fire at the Huntsville Recycling Center.  This is located on A Cleaner Way, just off Triana Boulevard behind Huntsville Animal Services.

The fire was reported about 12:30 p.m.  Workers noticed smoke behind the building and tried to put it out, but then called the fire department.

Six units are on the scene working to extinguish the flames and smoke.  The fire is contained, but will likely burn for several more hours, according to Captain Frank McKenzie.

Conditions are very dry, so firefighters are keeping a close eye on the situation.
