There is a slim chance of some spotty rain on Thursday; the better chance of any showers at all comes northwest of the Tennessee Valley with a weak cool front passing through the region. It stays warm in spite of the increase in clouds and slim chance of a shower: highs in the lower 80s Thursday afternoon.
Football Friday: There is a small chance that some rain could creep into the Tennessee Valley Friday evening; most games won't see a single drop of rain, but clouds drifting over the region could provide a few sprinkles here and there. Temperatures start out around 70ºF and only drop to the mid-60s with that low chance of rain.
Any rain looks relatively light with only a few exceptions in the northwest corner of Alabama and southern/western Tennessee.
In case you're wondering, the odds that it rains at least a half-inch over the next 15 days is only around 40-50 percent. Typically, we would see anywhere from 1.6" to 2.0" of rain in that same time frame.
There is some hope for a more organized batch of wet weather next week, but that is still very, very uncertain.
