ATLANTA — The Atlanta Motor Speedway has announced via NASCAR.com that it will open its campgrounds to Hurricane Matthew evacuees who are seeking safe grounds, free of charge. The Speedway is built to handle thousands of campers during its annual NASCAR race events.
The Speedway is also opening its bath house facilities located near the campgrounds, making it so that evacuees will have free access to hot showers and restroom facilities.
For on-site assistance, information about the campgrounds, or directions, visit or call the ticket office or gift store building. Atlanta Motor Speedway is located about 25 miles south of Atlanta on Hwy 19/41 and about eight miles west of I-75 off of GA Highway 20.
