Fire at Scant City Flowers in Guntersville

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala – The Arab Fire Department, Georgia Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and the 4C Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene of a fire just after noon at Scant City Flowers and Gifts on Hwy 69 in Guntersville.

Officials say the gift shop, a motor home, three delivery vans and two cars were completely lost in the fire.

Fire and Rescue crews used 45,000 gallons of water to put out the fire.

Officials say that no one was in the building or vehicles at the time and no one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Witnesses on the scene say that someone was burning debris and the fire got out of control.

At this time Highway 69 is shut down around the area of the fire.
