Attorney indicted on child pornography charges

Steven Vincent Smith (Marshall County Jail)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-A federal grand jury indicted an Albertville attorney on child pornography-related charges.

A two-count indictment filed in district court in Birmingham charges Steven Vincent Smith, 53, of Albertville, with receiving and possessing child pornography in 2015 and 2016.  If found guilty, the maximum penalty for each count is 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The FBI’s Child Exploitation task force and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency arrested Smith in March.
