HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-- Students are launching into a new routine at Ann's Studio of Dance at its new building on Drake Avenue. It's a new building for the longtime Huntsville dance studio, formerly located on Whitesburg Drive.
"If it wasn't to be, we needed to move on. And that's what we did," commented Brown. "With all the negative publicity about the parking and everything, it was sad to leave. But it was also a good feeling. Left that behind us, and everybody's happy here."
"You can line up a lot farther now, because we can use the whole parking lot here for drop off pick up," explained Leigh Ann Bender, the studio's Artistic Director.
Brown said their new location means new floors and mirrors for the dancers to use, but they also found potential in the new neighborhood.
"We thought well gosh, this is kind of an untapped area," she commented, talking about new students they've taken on now they've crossed the Parkway.
The dance school may have left its old building, but the memories remain with the students. Momentos still remind those in the new building, of what the school was, while they practice for what it will be next.
Ann even brought the large copper dancers with her, to attach to the new building.
"Everybody drives up and goes oh, the copper dancers are here! It's kind of like our stamp I guess," she said.
