One woman displaced after house fire in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Just before 1 a.m., a woman called 911 to say her home was filling up with smoke. When fire fighters arrived, they could see heavy smoke coming from the home in the 3400 block of Clopton Street, just north of Drake Avenue.

Fire fighters say the flames were in the attic of the home, making it difficult to extinguish.

There was fire damage to the attic and roof, as well as heavy smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

There are no injuries, but the homeowner is displaced.

Investigators are looking in the cause of this house fire.
