Warm low temperatures break daily record

Low temperatures in Huntsville Saturday were the warmest on record for the date September 17th, coming in at 74 degrees. The previous record for September 17th was 72 degrees, set back in 1921. Muscle Shoals tied their record from 1987, at 73 degrees. It seems suiting that we would see record warmth during the last weekend of summer, considering how hot the summer was as a whole.

ce_temptrend_lowsFall is almost here though, and many of us are ready to wake up to crisp cool mornings. Fortunately our morning temperatures will be cooler this week, just in time for the Autumnal Equinox on Thursday. We’ll still be a touch above our average of 61, but it will still feel nice compared to the mid 70s we woke up to this weekend!

Take advantage of the morning temperatures this week, because afternoon highs will still be in the low 90s.
