HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – For 20 years, the third Saturday of September has played host to thousands of motorcycles crossing north Alabama to commemorate the Trail of Tears. The annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride will be coming through Huntsville mid-morning on Saturday, September 17.
The ride begins in Bridgeport at 8 a.m. Thousands of riders will make their way west on Highway 72, through Scottsboro and in to Huntsville. They’re expected on Highway 72, then onto I-565 about 9:30 a.m. The riders will continue west to exit 3, Greenbrier Road, where they’ll stop at Redstone Harley Davidson.
They will leave Redstone Harley Davidson at 12:30 p.m. and travel north on Mooresville Road to Highway 72.
All entrance ramps to travel westbound on I-565 along the route will be closed for the safety of the riders as they travel through Huntsville. If you’re traveling in the area of I-565 expect delays between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
