Huntsville STAC agents seize estimated $1M worth of drugs during raid, including edible marijuana “candy”

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- Agents with the Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force have made an arrest after a lengthy investigation into the trafficking of large amounts of high-grade marijuana in the Huntsville and Madison County area.

STAC agents served a search warrant at the home of David Scott on Mountain View Drive on Monday.  The search resulted in the seizure of 127 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 160 pounds of edible marijuana “candy,” psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, a handgun, and over $6,000 in cash.

Agents say the drugs have an estimated street value of more than $1 million.

“We want the community, and especially parents, to be aware of this type of marijuana candy, and we encourage parents to educate themselves on current drug trends,” said Sergeant Jerry King.

Scott is charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession of cocaine. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
