HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - An organization that has been serving the community for decades is receiving a new home. Ability Plus is a non-profit who serves those with autism and developmental disabilities.
Ability Plus offers many different services for those individuals, including residential, behavior and career services. They will continue their mission in their new facility.
"Now we're all under one roof, so we all operate as a big family so it's been really good," said Karockas Watkins, Ability Plus CEO. "We've been here for about a month now and we've seen very positive change and a good culture since we've been over here."
Although Ability Plus will have a new outside appearance, Watkins says that doesn't change the staff's aim to enable lives and dreams.
"By us being in the community, by us showing that these are great people...they may have some special needs, but they are great people, they are wonderful," said Watkins.
Watkins says this new facility gives them much more space to expand and add different classes in the future.
The ribbon cutting for the new facility will be Tuesday, September 13th at 11am at 100 Jetplex Boulevard in Huntsville.
