Huntsville church to host special 9/11 service for first responders

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -  As we prepare to commemorate the 15th anniversary 9/11, Life Church Huntsville Pastor Kevin McGlamery says there's one thing to remember.

"The bible is really clear about the Holy Spirit being a comforter to all people. In those moments of loss; those moments of tragedy, especially like we experienced on 9/11, we need his presence close," said McGlamery.

Which is why he's inviting the community to attend a blessing service to honor our local first responders, on Sunday, September 11.

"We couldn't think there would be a better day than this to honor people in our community who put their lives on the line for us," said McGlamery.

All first responders and their families are invited to Life Church in the Lee High School theater on Sunday at 10:30 a.m., after the service there will be a free lunch.

"So even if they're on duty and can't come to the service, we want them to come by Lee High School from 12-2 p.m. and pick up a barbecue lunch just from our church saying 'thank you'," said McGlamery.

The name of Sunday's message is 'We are better together.'

"We want people to know when we come together as a community we can get more things accomplished," said McGlamery.
