Hot, dry weather expected for high school football games Friday night

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The crisp, fall feel most people associate with high school football is still several weeks away.

Hot, summer-like weather continues to rule to roost across north Alabama and southern Tennessee. Temperatures will remain above 90 degrees through 6 p.m. We expect readings between 83 and 89 for kickoff time. With dry air in place, it will get more comfortable as soon as the sun goes down. Many spots may drop into the 70s during the second half.

With high pressure in control and very dry air in place, rain seems very unlikely.
