Blood drive held in remembrance of 9/11

"Muslims For Life" held a blood drive today  in honor of the anniversary of 9/11.  This campaign was created on the 10th anniversary as a way to remember the victims on that day.  This is a nationwide campaign that raises 7,000 to 10,000 units of blood give to local hospitals.

Leaders of the organization say it's a good way to give back to the community and promote a message of peace.  "Most of them are peaceful citizens that left their country and they love the humanity.  And Islam teaches the Muslims to respect the life and if you save one life you save the humanity," says Younus Ismail, a member of Muslims For Life.

Scottsboro alone collects more than 30 units of blood every year.
