ASBURY, Ala. -- Friday the Asbury area community made sure the people working on Marshall County's largest project to date knew just how much they are appreciated.
Community members provided lunch for the bridge construction workers at Double Bridges. State and local officials were there as well.
A new bridge to replace the two, one-lane bridges has been in discussion for years, and it's much-anticipated by the community. "It will be beneficial to saving lives. There have been several killed over the years," community member Keith McClendon said.
Construction on the bridge started nearly a year ago.
Community members say they just wanted to let those people building it know just how much they appreciate their work.
