Alabama A&M loses big to Middle Tennessee in opener

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (goblueraiders.com) - Middle Tennessee's offense was in midseason form and its dominant defense produced the program's first shutout in three years as the Blue Raiders defeated Alabama A&M, 55-0, in front of 19,967 at Floyd Stadium.

It was the season opener for both teams and Middle Tennessee wasted no time getting started as the Blue Raiders (1-0) scored on their first six drives.

Sophomore quarterback Brent Stockstill was phenomenal as he completed his first 22 passes to start the game. Stockstill was 30-of-36 for 329 yards and five touchdowns – all in the first half. He did not play in the second half. Stockstill set the Middle Tennessee record for most consecutive passes with 22, besting Logan Kilgore's previous mark of 19 straight.
