The Fall Home and Garden Show returns to Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Sunday marks the last day of the Fall Home and Garden Show, although it won't be the last for many business owners. Some say they keep coming back year after year, because to them, it's worth it.

"We've been at the show for the last twenty years," said Butch Emmons, owner of Decorative Concrete.

Butch Emmons and his 20-year-old business are veterans when it comes to the Home and Garden show - with a strategy in mind.

"The reason we come is because people come here with projects on their mind, and we want to show them what we can do so that we can be their project this year," said Emmons.

With more than 100 companies to choose from in 52,000 square feet of space, it's a one stop shop for those looking for their next home project.

"We see the same people come by year after year and they seem to go away, and then one year they'll walk up and look at us and grin and say 'You're my project this year!' and then everybody's grinning after that!," said Emmons.

From the latest trends in landscaping to outdoor grilling, Emmons says this show stands out among the rest.

"I've been to the show in Atlanta, and I thought it would be awesome...this show is just as good as the one in Atlanta so you don't do any better than coming to this show for this town."

As lines of people wait at the entrance, business owners get ready for what could make a big impact on their numbers.

"I think about 50% of our business is generated from our exposure at this show and again, we may not get it all this year, but it's coming in the years to follow," said Emmons.

It's a fixer-upper's dream...until next year.
