HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Animal Services is joining area pet rescue groups in sponsoring a community wide, one day pet adoption event on Saturday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Huntsville Jaycee Building in John Hunt Park.

Shelter pets will be available for a low adoption fee of $8 for cats and kittens, and $27 for dogs and puppies. This includes rabies and other vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, license, and microchip for pet identification. Restrictions and adoption fees may apply on selected pets.

In addition to the Huntsville Animal Services shelter pets, there will be dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens at varying prices from other area animal rescue organizations, including A New Leash on Life, Friends of Rescue, Greater Huntsville Humane Society, SNAP and AFK pet rescue groups.

Huntsville Animal Services and its partner animal rescue groups need the community’s help to reduce the homeless pet population by adopting animals into devoted families. They’re working towards making this a quarterly adoption event at the Huntsville Jaycee Community Building.
