Strong Tropical Wave – Could Become Hermine Shortly

On cue the tropical Atlantic is getting active. There isn’t much left of Fiona and Gaston is way out in the eastern Atlantic. The one system the United States needs to keep a close watch on is just east of the Lesser Antilles. A strong tropical wave continues to move west-northwest across the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday. This system has a chance to become the eighth named storm of the season.

Hermine is the next name on the list. On the current track, the system would just north of the Lesser Antilles close to Puerto Rico. Will it move in the direction of the Bahamas or the United States? Will the system curve out to sea? These are questions that will be answered in the coming days. Most models take in the general direction of the southern Bahamas by the weekend.
