Two arrested in Decatur homicide investigation

DECATUR, Ala. – Decatur police are investigating after a teen was shot and killed Sunday at 12:03 a.m.

Police said a 911 caller stated someone had been shot at 1007 Danville Road South West. When they arrived at the scene they found 19-year-old Braxton Reed Edwards and his brother 23-year-old Cameron Jarod Edwards both shot.

Braxton Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene and Cameron Edwards was transported Huntsville Hospital.

Braxton Edwards’ body was sent for an autopsy.

Darrin Samone Wilkes of Huntsville and Terrance Shaquille Ellison of Harvest have been arrested in the investigation. They have been charged with capital murder and assault in the first degree.

Both are in the Morgan County Jail with out bond.
