Muscle Shoals Police say investigators worked tirelessly to bring 2 arrests in Jason Fox murder

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - Muscle Shoals Police Chief Robert Evans said investigators worked tirelessly to secure two arrests in the murder of 40-year-old Jason Fox.

This weekend, two people were charged with capital murder.  One is Fox's wife, Erica Rae Fox.  The 39-year-old was arrested early Sunday morning.  Ronnie Lee Credille, 39, was arrested later in the day.  Both are being held without bond in the Colbert County Jail.

Chief Evans spoke at a news conference Monday.  He wasn't able to release many new details, but said the capital murder charges came after investigators met with the District Attorney's office.  He didn't say how the murder took place, nor did he discuss how Fox and Credille were involved.

Erica Fox was initially charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

"Based on the evidence presented to the DA's office, they felt comfortable moving forward with the upgraded warrant," said Chief Evans.

Jason Fox was killed August 12 in his family's home on Grand Avenue.  Investigators haven't said how he died, only that it was a traumatic injury.  They interviewed more than three dozen people about the case.

Chief Evans didn't say when Erica Fox became a suspect in her husband's murder.  "Investigators went in the direction the evidence took them," he said.
