Former Best Way Rent-to-Own employee accused of stealing customer’s identity

DECATUR, Ala. – According to the Decatur Police, Danielle Ashley Mayes, a former employee at Best Way Rent-to-Own has been charged with identity theft.

An investigation began after the store manager filed a police report on April 15th after discovering a customer had received a bill for items they didn’t purchase.

Authorities say Mayes had obtained the goods from the business through identity theft.

Mayes is now in jail on a $5,000.00 bond.
