GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. -- As of Monday, families with students in the Marshall County School system can find important information and enroll their child online in a move that is helping the system accomplish set goals.
Marshall County Schools has important information for parents live on its website, in a new move from last year. "It will help us meet one of our goals of communicating effectively and efficiently with parents, so that they're able to log online and see all of our district policies, our handbook, sign permission forms and other district forms," explains Superintendent Cindy Wigley.
Wigley says parents can complete their student's registration through the county's website now as well, which is another new opportunity for families. "They'll receive a letter that will give them a log-in so they'll be able to log in and actually complete the registration process," Wigley says.
The forum is a secure way of completing the registration process effectively and efficiently, and it's meeting another of the system's goals. "It's considered 'green', so it not only saves us money in the district but it also helps the environment," Wigley said.
Students will bring home a letter with more information on how to navigate through the new online portal on the first day of school.
Marshall County Schools go back on Thursday.
