Scottsboro Police ask for information regarding 88-year-old woman’s death

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. – Scottsboro Police are asking the public for any information about a woman who was found dead at her home last week.

Police said on Friday evening, Scottsboro Police were called to a residence on the 3300 block of E. Willow St. for a welfare check. There, police said they discovered Ruby Durham, 88, of Scottsboro, deceased in the residence.

Her vehicle, a 1994 light blue Cutlass, was missing from the residence, police said. Monday, Scottsboro Police learned that her car was recovered in the Jasper, Tenn. area.

Durham’s body was sent to the State Forensics Lab for an autopsy. Investigators are looking into the circumstances around her death. Anyone with information concerning Durham’s death is urged to contact the Scottsboro Police Department at 256-574-3333.
