Crash Causes Power Outage In Limestone County

ATHENS, Ala. – A one car crash along Highway 72 and Curtis Lane in Limestone County has power crews on the scene working to restore service.

When WHNT News 19 crews arrived, a power pole was smoking.  State Troopers along with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene.  Clements Volunteer Fire Department is there as well directing traffic.

We know one person was taken to an area hospital, although their condition is not known at this time.  The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Traffic on Highway 72 is moving, but the eastbound lane is blocked as Athens Utility crews work to restore service.
