NEW YORK - Joey "Jaws" Chestnut came to win again, and he did just that.

A highly anticipated rematch took place in the annual July Fourth hot dog eating contest on Coney Island's famed boardwalk.

Thousands of people watched in person as Chestnut regained his title, beating defending champ Matt "The Megatoad" Stonie.

Chestnut scarfed down 70 buns and dogs, and Stonie ate 53.

Chestnut set the world record by eating 69 dogs in 10 minutes in 2013. He won eight straight competitions in a row before losing the Mustard Yellow International Belt to Stonie last year in an upset.

The women's competition will feature defending champion Miki Sudo, three-time winner Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas and others.
