Single-vehicle crash claims the life of a Tenn. man north of Athens

ATHENS, Ala. – State Troopers report a single-vehicle crash Wednesday claimed the life of a Lewisburg, Tenn. man.

Senior Trooper Johnathan Appling said at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday Rodney Lynn Bryant, 52, was killed when the 2010 Honda Civic he was driving left Alabama 251 at the five-mile marker, four miles north of Athens and struck a utility pole before overturning.

Appling said Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
