HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A school system’s proposal to ban skinny jeans is not going over very well with students and parents.

CBSNews.com reports the New Hanover County School System in North Carolina is considering a policy that “prohibits all students from wearing leggings, skinny jeans” or other excessively tight fitting pants.

The proposal does include a caveat that tight pants may be worn with a top or dress that covers “the posterior in its entirety.”

Administrators are collecting feedback to present to the school board, according to CBS affiliate WILM reported.

School Board Vice Chairwoman Jeannette Nichols said the proposal was developed in the wake of “bigger girls” being bullied because of tight jeans.
