Madison County Schools offering free breakfast, lunch this summer

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – This summer, Madison County school leaders want to help ensure no student goes hungry.

The system is participating in the USDA Summer Food Service Program.

The federally-funded program allows schools to provide “free, healthy meals to children and teens in low-income areas during the summer months when school is not in session.”

Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all who come and there are no income-eligibility requirements.

The meals will be offered at Madison Elementary, New Hope Elementary and Moores Mill Intermediate schools.

Details are as follows:

Madison County Elementary

  • 173 Wood Street
  • June 6-July 15
  • Breakfast served 8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch served 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

New Hope Elementary School

  • 5300 Main Drive
  • June 6-July 15 (closed July 4)
  • Breakfast served 8:00 a.m.-8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch served 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Moores Mill Intermediate

  • 1210 Walker Lane
  • June 6-July 15 (closed July 4)
  • Breakfast served 8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch served 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
