Inaugural North Precinct Block Party to be held Saturday, May 21

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Huntsville Police Department in partnership with the North Huntsville Community Watch Associations and Alabama A&M University are hosting the Inaugural North Precinct Block Party Saturday, May 21.

The theme of the event is “Building Bridges.” It will be held on the grounds of Alabama A&M University next to the North Precinct building. North Precinct Captain Jeffery B. Rice Sr. is hosting the event.

There will be free food, performances, martial arts demonstrations, and other events.

Parking is available at A&M Football Stadium Parking area. Shuttle Buses and Handi-Ride will be available to help senior citizens, people with small children, and others who need help.

  • 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. — WELCOME: HPD Blue Notes – National Anthem, Opening Prayer; Mayor’s Office Representative; Alabama A&M University Representative; Chief McMurray, Captain Rice – Announcements
  • 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. — Pastor Jurada Fuqua from Eagles Nest Ministries performs two songs.
  • 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. — Johnson High School Performs
  • 12:30 p.m. – Food starts
  • 12:45 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. — Lee High School Performs
  • 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. — Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Praise Dancers – “The Word in Motion”
  • 2:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. – Burwell’s Martial Arts Demonstrates
  • 3:00 p.m. – completion – Academy Cadet Help 3:30 – 5:30
