HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville City Schools is auctioning off a few dozen items online. Items such as sewing machines, weight training equipment, desks, tables, chairs and lockers are all considered dormant assets.

The online auction on GovDeals.com runs through Sunday, May 22.

The school system explains the auction is part of the Property and Asset Management Program. The district says it is important to liquidate supplemental property in a responsible and timely manner when it becomes dormant or it reaches the end of a usable HCS property life cycle to avoid fiscal and intangible storage costs.
