April is Digital Spring Cleaning Month. With that in mind, the Better Business Bureau will hold four Secure Your ID Shred Day events in the coming weeks where you can bring old tax records, bank statements, check stubs and other documents with personal information.

These events have become very popular, and you’re urged to come early because you might have to wait in line.  There is a limit of three garbage bags or boxes of documents per person, and please note cardboard and three-ring binders cannot be accepted.

Saturday, April 30 – Scottsboro, Caldwell Street between the Scottsboro Fire Department & City Hall, 9am – 12pm

Saturday, May 7 – Cullman, King Edward Shopping Plaza – 9am – 12pm

Saturday, May 14 – Guntersville, Guntersville High School – 9am – 12pm

Saturday, May 21 – Decatur – Calhoun Community College, 9am – 12pm

Saturday, May 21 – Shoals  – Florence Coliseum 9am – 12pm

BBB staff and representatives from partnering organizations will be available to answer questions about preventing identity theft and provide resources for victims.
