Athens police report no bomb found at high school after threat

ATHENS, Ala. – Athens Police report there was no bomb found on the campus of Athens High School. This after a threat prompted the evacuation of student.

Officers have released the campus back to the school system.

Athens Police Captain Trevor Harris said detectives are working a lead they are currently investigating.

Earlier,  Athens City Schools leaders alerted parents that Athens High School has been evacuated. According to the school system’s Twitter account, the students were taken to the Swan Creek Park Pavilion.

The students are all safe.
