Troopers identify 3 killed in wreck involving semi truck, vehicle on Hwy. 69 in Marshall County

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama State Troopers confirm three people died in a two-vehicle crash in Marshall County on Thursday.

Theodore Joseph Kaiser, 87,  Ann Kowalski Kaiser, 84, and Betty Dillard Fortenberry, 77, all of Huntsville, were killed in the accident, according to troopers. All three were travelling together in a car when it was struck by a semi truck.

The crash happened on Highway 69 near Union Grove Road, in between Guntersville and Arab.

All lanes of Highway 69 were blocked, and troopers stopped traffic on Union Grove Road while crews worked the scene and the helicopter landed to transport Kaiser to the hospital, where she later died.

There’s no word from authorities on what caused the accident.

Guntersville Police, Guntersville Fire and Rescue, ALEA and Marshall County Sheriff’s Office were among the responders.

Troopers say they will continue their investigation.
