Russellville Police: Man shot father during argument

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. – A Shoals man is charged with murder after a weekend visit with his father turned deadly.

According to Russellville Police, 46-year-old Craig Braly is being held without bail after a Saturday night shooting at an apartment on Lawrence Street.  When police arrived just after 9:30 p.m. they found 65-year-old Claude Allen Braly dead.

Police believe an argument between the two escalated, and the father was shot once in the head.  Craig Braly called 911 and was taken into custody at the scene.

He is being held at the Franklin County Detention Center on bail totaling $500,000.

Police say no one else was in the apartment at the time of the shooting.
