Moulton man dies in early morning crash at Hwy. 157 and Hwy. 36

DANVILLE, Ala. – A Moulton man was killed when his vehicle collided with a large truck Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 157 and Highway 36 in Lawrence County.

The wreck happened at 7:30 a.m.  Alabama State Troopers say Franklin Williams, 63, was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango that collided with a 1994 Ford L-8000 truck driven by Darryl Edward Swindle, 61, of Tuscumbia.

Williams was rushed to Lawrence Medical Center in Moulton where he was pronounced dead.  Swindle was also taken to the hospital, along with a passenger, Jean Rogers of Tuscumbia.  No word on the extent of their injuries.

Troopers continue their investigation.
