Scene in Washington D.C. where 7 pedestrians were struck

WASHINGTON D.C. (CBS) – Authorities say an alleged drunk driver hit seven pedestrians on New Year’s Eve in Northwest, D.C.

Police say the pedestrians were hit around 1:30 a.m. Friday at 17th and L Streets NW.

Officials say a total of seven people were injured during the accident. One person is in critical condition and the rest suffered minor injuries, according to fire officials.

All seven pedestrians were taken to the hospital.

The 25-year-old driver, Malik Lloyd is now facing DUI and hit and run charges.
