MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) - With talk of the Cotton Bowl taking over at the water cooler, the question must be asked: are there any Michigan State fans in north Alabama?

Meet the Wessels. Both graduates who said 'I Do' at the chapel on campus in East Lansing, Michigan.

"We are the only Spartan fans that I know of," said Theresa Wessel.

The house is draped and dripping in green and white. As a teacher at Alabama A&M, the Spartan pride gets attention from her students.

"[Students] will come by my office, they'll stick their head in and yell 'Roll Tide' or 'Michigan State sucks' or whatever," she laughed.

She's hoping to end the year with an old vendetta.

"I don't like [Nick] Saban very much because I was a student when he was at Michigan State when he quit and left us," she said.

Their kids, also decked out in Spartan gear of course, are excited too.

"The kids are excited to be against the Tide this year," she said. "They can't wait for Michigan State to win so they can rub it all their friends faces when they get back to school next Wednesday."

"It's nice to get Michigan State that kind of exposure because before we weren't recognized on a national level," said said.

The Wessels are hosting a watch party, where they expect to be the only green and white in the room.
