ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. – Alabama State Troopers and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office are managing a mud slide on Highway 431 between Boaz and Attalla.

WHNT News 19’s crews on the scene say all but one lane has since been reopened. Sheriff’s deputies, State Troopers, Sand Valley and Ivalee volunteer fire departments helped with traffic control while fire crews hosed the muck off the road.

The slide happened about 5:30 p.m. at Rockledge Road, in the Mountainboro community.

The southbound lanes of Highway 431 were closed — impassable — in this area for a few hours Monday.

We understand some vehicles were impacted by the rock slide. It’s not clear if anyone was hurt.
