Decatur Police arrest man suspected of robbing PNC Bank

DECATUR, Ala. – Decatur Police Wednesday arrested a man suspected of robbing PNC Bank on Beltline Rd the day before.

Donnie Dee Farris was arrested and charged with robbery in the first degree, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence.

Police said the robbery happened Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. at the PNC Bank located at 1715 Beltline Rd SW. A man threatened a teller with a knife and left with an undisclosed amount of stolen money.

During the investigation, Farris was identified as a suspect, police said. They were able to locate him at his house, where he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine that he attempted to hide, police said.

Farris will be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $28,000 bail. for his charges.
