MADISON COUNTY, Ala. – We’ve learned new information about an arrest made at Royal Spa, a business on Highway 72 west on Tuesday. An employee was arrested there as part of a lengthy investigation.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t released details yet, but the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has. Special Agents say a Chattanooga woman is charged in connection with the case. Myung Kim, 61, is the owner of Royal Spa in Madison County. She was booked in the Hamilton County, Tennessee Jail on Tuesday and is charged with one count of promoting prostitution.
Another woman was booked in the Madison County Jail just after 12 p.m. Tuesday. Her name is Kyong Hurlburt. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t released any information on her yet, nor have they connected her with Royal Spa, but the jail log shows she is charged with five counts of promoting prostitution.
The Sheriff’s Office said it plans to release information soon.
WHNT News 19 did confirm earlier Tuesday that the arrest at Royal Spa came after a year-long investigation based on complaints from citizens.
Royal Spa is on Highway 72, just west of Nance Road in a small house-type building.
The Tennessee investigation took two years, TBI Special Agents said, and involved human trafficking. Agents did not release specific details about what happened or who else was involved.
TBI Special Agents and Chattanooga Police, along with Homeland Security, executed search warrants at a home at 608 Valley Ridge Road and an apartment at 936 Mountain Creek, both in Chattanooga. The TBI said this is related to five search warrants being executed at Royal Spa in Madison County, Alabama.
