Florence, Ala. (WHNT) The University of North Alabama football team will make a record-tying 20th appearance in the NCAA Division II playoffs on Saturday. The Lions finished their regular season ranked 2nd in the Super Region II poll and will host Newberry Saturday at noon.

"Very experienced team that's played together a lot and very similar to us," head coach Bobby Wallace said on Tuesday. "We played really well the last three weeks in a row and I'm hoping we play our best football at the right time."

Playing at home certainly helps, and the Lions are 23-7 all-time at Braly Municipal Stadium in the post-season. This year's team is 5-0 so far in Florence and that helps put the team at ease coming into this game.

"We've had a ton of good memories in that stadium," senior quarterback Luke Wingo said. "We've always played good in Braly Stadium. I feel like our level of play is a little higher there. Our fans our awesome."

UNA is 2-0 all-time against Newberry but these two teams have not faced each other since 2006. Kikcoff between the Lions and Wolves is Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
