Decatur Police arrest second person in murder case investigators connect to sale of fake marijuana

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Decatur Police say two men wanted in connection with a murder on Wadsworth Street SE have turned themselves into police. Officials say Gary Lorenzo Hill Jr. turned himself in to police on Wednesday, November 18. Jovan Deante Anderson surrendered on Monday, November 16.

Police say both men were suspects in the deadly shooting of Brandon Terrell Harris. He was discovered inside his girlfriend’s car behind a home on Wadsworth Street SE on the morning of November 13. Authorities say Harris had been shot multiple times.

Court documents state:

“Terrell had been involved in a narcotics transaction during which he sold a quantity of fake marijuana to two individuals, identified as Gary Lorenzo Hill Jr. and Jovan Deante Anderson. When Hill discovered that the drugs he purchased were fake, he and Anderson left the residence towards Brandon’s residence. A witness stated that shortly after Hill and Anderson left for Brandon’s residence they heard several gunshots.”

Following the investigation, officials issued warrants for Hill and Anderson for Capital Murder. Both are now being held in the Morgan County Jail with no bond.
