Virginia College offers free services to veterans this week, including haircuts, computer troubleshooting

Students, faculty and staff of Virginia College in Huntsville will celebrate Veterans Day this year by offering a variety of free services and giveaways to local veterans from Friday, Nov. 6 to Friday, Nov. 13 at its campus located at 2021 Drake Ave. S.W.

Faculty and students from the college’s business program will organize the week’s events, ensuring all veterans are thanked for their service. This includes the following:
• Free lotion made by pharmacy technician students can be picked up during the week at the front desk.
• Free miniature flags manufactured by students from the 3D imaging and animation program can also be picked up during the week at the front desk.
• Network programming students will provide free troubleshooting services for veterans. Computers can be dropped off Nov. 6 and picked up Nov. 13.
• Free haircuts will be provided by cosmetology students to veterans, spouses and their family members Nov. 10-12.
• Free health checkups, including glucose screenings, BMI screenings and blood pressure checks will be provided by medical assistant students for veterans on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the campus in room 235.
• Free chair massages for veterans, spouses and family members will be provided by therapeutic massage students on Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
