Huntsville’s Veterans Day Parade starts at 11 am – Here’s the route

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The 2015 Veterans Day Parade and celebration will take place on Wednesday, November 11 in downtown Huntsville. It begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until approximately 1 p.m.

This is a popular parade with all kinds of groups featured — most importantly, veterans! You’ll also see marching bands, dance lines, firefighters, police, politicians and scout troops, just to name a few.

Several streets and intersections in the downtown area will be affected.  Drivers should expect delays, road closures, and traffic detours beginning as early as 7:30 a.m. The parade will begin and end at Lot K on Clinton Avenue, across from the U.S. Post Office.

Monroe Street will be closed between Jefferson Street and Washington Street no later than 7:30 a.m. All other affected intersections and streets will be closed in phases beginning at 9 a.m. and all affected will be closed by 10:30 a.m.  Please use caution when traveling in the area, and please watch for people crossing the street, including small children as well as adults.

All streets should be reopened by 2 p.m.
