MADISON, Ala. – Police say all lanes of Interstate 565 west are open again after a deadly wreck Monday afternoon.  The westbound side was closed at mile marker 11 for about two hours, over the area near Zierdt Road.

The two-vehicle wreck happened just after 2:30 p.m.  Police say Kelly Springfield, 37, died.  She lived in Madison.

While the westbound side was closed, traffic was diverted to Exit 13/Madison Boulevard.  This caused westbound traffic to back up all the way to the Sparkman Drive exit as people left Redstone Arsenal for the afternoon.

Police are still trying to determine how the wreck happened. They say another person, an adult male, was seriously hurt.  He is in Huntsville Hospital and his name has not been released yet.
