HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Salvation Army works 365 days a year to help people in need. However, you might say they're most visible during the Christmas season.
Major Donald Wilson says volunteers are needed to help the organization during the holidays. Bell ringers will begin their work in November, and the Angel Tree will go up next month at Parkway Place and Madison Square Malls.
The bell ringers have a red kettle where people can make a contribution. The money collected through the kettle drive helps fund the Salvation Army's good work all year long, including social services, the emergency shelter and its feeding program.
The Angel Tree offers you a chance to help a local child or senior citizen with Christmas gifts.
Volunteers are needed for both programs. Please call (256) 536-5576 ext.14 for more information or visit salvationarmyalm.org/huntsville.
